Public Health Ontario (PHO) has released a new Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) for Health Care Workers (HCWs) course which aims to better support the evolving needs of stakeholders seeking education on IPAC.
This interactive e-learning course:
- Includes critical practice elements including understanding the chain of transmission, conducting a point-of-care risk assessment and critical IPAC practices such as hand hygiene
- Includes the elements of additional precautions and actions to take when an infection is suspected or confirmed
- Aligns with up-to-date recommendations from the Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee
- Is free to access
- Can be incorporated into ongoing training, orientation for new staff, or as a refresher, and
- Replaces the existing IPAC Core Competencies course.
