Dr. Hamant Shah is opened a new Hepatology Consult Clinic at Etobicoke General. The clinic runs on most Wednesday mornings (9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) in the Outpatient Medicine Clinic Area on the Lower Level.
Dr. Shah’s primary clinical interest is viral hepatitis (HBV and HCV), though he will also see patients with other hepatology concerns, such as abnormal liver tests, fatty liver disease (MASLD), and Cirrhosis.
The clinic is designed for consultation with short-term follow-up. The aim is to provide timely access to hepatology input, establish diagnosis or management plans, and then transition patients back to their primary care provider or referring specialist for ongoing management.
This approach will facilitate timely access for as many patients as possible, and ensure patients receive specialty input when it is most needed. Given the limited nature of this clinic, Dr. Shah cannot assume long-term care of liver patients at this time.
