New Common Core Standards for Vascular Ultrasound in Ontario (VUS Standards) has been released with the aim of standardizing and improving the quality of VUS care for patients across the province. These common core protocols provide guidance to enhance equity, reduce unnecessary repeat studies, and ensure that clinicians receive complete and relevant information to provide optimal vascular care for patients.

The updated quality standards for Asthma: Care in the Community for People 16 Years of Age and Older and Asthma: Care in the Community for People Under 16 Years of Age have now been released. Updates also include the release of the Asthma: Using Race-Neutral Equations to Interpret Spirometry: Information for Clinicians and Asthma: Race-Neutral Measurement of Lung Function: Information for People Receiving Care information documents. These documents can be used to support clinical practice changes and facilitate discussions with patients.

In FY25/26, Ontario Health Teams (OHTs) will be instrumental in advancing the Primary Care Action Team’s (PCAT) priorities by collaborating with Primary Care Networks and Health Care Connect to streamline patient attachment, support interim care, and help clear the Health Care Connect waitlist by Spring 2026.
