We are excited to announce that as of August 12th, 2026, SCOPE users have access to the OB Care Connect pilot program, created in partnership with Etobicoke General Hospital (EGH) and Brampton Civic Hospital (BCH)’s Women’s and Children’s Departments and the Brampton Primary Care Obstetrics Group (PCOG).
What is OB Care Connect? OB Care Connect streamlines legacy referral pathways to provide a single entry point for obstetrics (OB) care provider referrals, offering real-time visibility into OB care provider availability and capacity, reducing administrative burden, and standardizing an equitable process for all patients.
As this pilot program soft launches, SCOPE users will be able to refer patients at 12-14 weeks who are planning to deliver at Brampton Civic Hospital and are not currently attached to an obstetrical care provider.
Referrals for patients planning to deliver at Etobicoke General Hospital will be accepted in the upcoming weeks.
As referrals are received, a nurse navigator will assess your patient and refer them to a Primary Care Obstetrics Group (PCOG) physician, a midwife or an obstetrician. Once connected, the referring physician will receive an appointment confirmation via OB Care Connect.
Inclusion Criteria
- Pregnant & planning to deliver at BCH or EGH.
- Insured (OHIP, IFH).
Exclusion Criteria
- Connected to a delivery provider.
- Requires maternal fetal medicine care. See the maternal fetal medicine referral resource on the SCOPE website.
As this is a pilot initiative, the referral and matching process will continue to be evaluated, with future program enhancements potentially incorporating additional opportunities for patient choice. Our goal is to ensure timely access to the most appropriate obstetrical care for each patient.
